“Our new and transformed healthcare campus embodies Essentia Health’s mission to make a healthy difference in people’s lives,” Minnesota Valley Health Center President Trish Townsdin said late last month. “We continually strive to provide community-based health care in an environment that fosters dignity, respect and excellence.”
The Minnesota Valley Health Center, a member of Essentia’s Critical Access Hospital Group, includes a short-term and long-term skilled nursing facility, an independent living apartment annex, an adult day health center, a Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Department, Radiology and laboratory suites, an outpatient specialty clinic and a new comprehensive Emergency Services area adjacent to the helipad.
While the renovations aren't quite complete, guests toured the renovated areas, including the Emergency Department, administrative offices, the lab and radiology. Hospital and nursing home renovations will continue this winter.
Essentia’s strategy is to vastly expand local access to healthcare services in the region, which includes Le Sueur, Sibley, Nicollet and Scott counties. “This project adds tremendous value to our hospital and the services we provide,” said Paul Borchert, chairman of the Minnesota Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
